Deputy Chief Gene Morton began his career with the Plano Police Department in 2004. After serving a few years as a patrol officer, he was moved into the Investigations Division and was the first Investigator in department history. DC Morton had a great deal of success as an Investigator and worked his way up to being the Commander of the Kendall County Major Crimes Task Force. He was promoted to Sergeant of Investigations at the Plano Police Department and has managed multiple Investigators while continuing his role as the Commander of the Kendall County Major Crimes Task Force. DC Morton has also won Investigator of the Year in Kendall County. DC Morton is a graduate of the FBI LEEDA Trilogy which focuses on Command, Supervision, and Leadership. He is currently the Vice President of the Kendall County Association of Chiefs of Police.
