  • Move your car off the street. By City Ordinance, parking on the street is prohibited when snowfall is 2" or more. You can be ticketed and/or towed.

  • You can bring your payment into City Hall Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm, use the drop box at the James St. side of City Hall 24/7, mail your payment to 17 E. Main St., Plano, IL 60545, or pay your bill online at www.cityofplanoil.com.

  • Bills are ALWAYS due on the 20th of the month they are issued even if the 20th falls on a weekend due to the fact that we have so many ways to pay. If your account number begins with "01" then your bill is due on the odd numbered months. If your account number begins with "02" then your bill is due on the even numbered months.

  • Your bill is always due on the 20th of the month you receive your bill. A 10% penalty is added to your bill the first business day after the 20th. A $20.00 flat fee penalty is added 10 days after the 10% penalty. When the $20.00 penalty is added we also hang a shut off tag at the property. You then have 48 hours to pay your bill. If your water is shut off a $50.00 penalty is then added.

  • Call Barb at City Hall and she will take a look. 630-552-8275. If the bill is too high, you may have a leak. Toilets and water softeners are the number one culprits for this issue. You can check your toilet by putting food coloring in the tank, wait 10 minutes, then if the dye color is in the toilet bowl your toilet is leaking.

  • Water bills remain in the owner's name and it is up to the owner of the property to get your bill to you. We do not set up new accounts in tenant's names.

  • If you are over the age of 62 there is a discount available. Come to City Hall and fill out a form. You must have proof of age (birth certificate, driver's license or state ID) and proof of residency (bank or credit card statement, other utility bill).

  • The City collects brush once a month from May to October for no charge. Brush may be put in the parkway the first full week of the month.  The City will pick it up the second full week of the month. Groot will collect brush on your regular garbage day from April 1st through November 30th. Brush needs to be cut and bundled properly. For full details, link to
